We are planning to have a family day at church for the first time. Do you have any ideas for activities to include the whole family. I know I want to do a sport like volley ball or Softball, but I need more ideas. I also need food ideas . Any info would be helpful. God Bless

A potluck picnic seems to me to be the best for food.

I have no suggestions for games, save to remember to have things for each age group.

You might want to invite non-family types, too; singles 18 – 35. I don’t know how you’d phrase that, but I know there are men and women who look to meet members of the opposite sex in places besides bars.

Finally, read 20 questions here and you may decide to ask for help elsewhere. This category is usually full of Fundamentalists and Atheists arguing with each other.

My denomination’s national organization has 300 mailing lists. they ahve one for church web masters, another for music directors, another for administrators, etc. Yours probably does too; it is an obvious service. That assumes you belong to a church with a national affiliation. If you do, poke around in their web site for mailing lists and look for one about social activities.

Or, call the three biggest Protestant / Catholic churches in your town, depending on which you are, and ask for some advice. Ted Pack
