I planned my own Mexico wedding and it was very successful plus I acted as wedding planner for a friend’s wedding [directed rehearsal, dressed the hall, and detailed the entire day even down to grabbing a pail when the ceiling of the hall started to leak all over the head table, sending my husband out to find new fish for centerpieces after I found that the heating didn't work in the hall and half the fish had died, and burning the back of my leg putting out a fire that a guest had lite]. Unfortunately, my friend and I had a falling out since then, so I cannot use her as a reference.

Anyway, I feel extremely confident in my abilities, I am going to university right now [I'm in my last year of a double degree so there isn't a way for me to go and take a wedding planner course or something].

How do you go about hiring someone? What credentials do you look at? Help?

Okay so, my friend Meghan is getting married and she asked me to be her wedding planner. I said yes and I thought it would be easy. It will be a very small wedding. We won’t have too many guests. We do not have the money for this. We have exactly five dollars so far to spend on the wedding. How can we make the money needed? We want to use as little as possible. We can’t do many jobs. We have the dress and tux covered. We also have the guests gifts covered. We have brides maids and the maid of honors dresses covered. We have the groomsmen and best mans tuxes already taken care of. We also need a very cheap veil. We need cake. A cheap one too like under $30. We have the top piece taken care of. We need to get a lot more but those are just off the top of my head. We need to buy very cheap too. Like this whole wedding needs to cost under $250. Maybe we can go up to $300 but, that’s it! Help me find the cheapest prices on everything this wedding needs. (Including the things I did not mention like a Camera and stuff ect.) Thanks so so so very much for your time and help it means a lot to me and will help me even in the littlest of ways and the biggest. Help me make my BFF’s big day be very special! I asked a question the other day and was told to just get a planner. I don’t want to hire someone to deal with me because I already drive my family up the wall. I don’t need to waste money on someone who’d probably not take the time to focus on my needs for this wedding. My mom’s doing enough of that.
