Take notes in class. You may do this already, I don’t know, but after you get home and work a bit on your homework, type your notes on the computer or copy them by hand. I had a high school teacher who swore by this and I tried it for a Mid-term exam in college and it worked like a charm (99%–best grade in the class!)

Tests and quizzes usually make up the bulk of the semester grades (at least 40% typically), so devout a large amount of time studying for these.

And if all else fails, remember that grades in 8th won’t affect your life too much. Do well enough to pass the grade, learn a lot, and have fun. Once 9th grade starts, start planning more for your future aspirations and then be concerned about your grades because these will affect college entrance more than 8th grade. Alex

Try this quiz at About.com. It’ll tell you what kind of learner you are and may help you study better to improve your grades.

If you are already great with studying, maybe ask the teacher for extra credit to keep your grades up if you missed something or lost some pts here and there.

Organize your time! Write down all your assignments as a schedule and follow it. Make a daily schedule and weekly schedule. Don’t forget to assign yourself breaks so you don’t over due yourself.

    Good luck! ♥Miss X♥
