Im starting 9th grade in 4 days and don’t know what to expect. The people in this school are..okay some/most are rude! The halls are VERY small!! I dont wanna bumped into anyone! And At freshman orientation they gave us a planner they gave us for school and i lost it already!! I dont know where it is! I dont want to get in trouble the first day! And there arent many sports or clubs to join its just basketball, track, soccer, and cheerleading! but I want to do one but none Im good at! What to do?
And Im scared to carry my tote bag around! Im not sure you can. They said if it can fit a textbook inside i cant carry it,But my bag is big, not not that big, and its not like, a rectangle shaped tote, or a purse, What to do? I need advice and helpful tips for what to do!

Don’t worry about people being rude, a lot of people in the world are rude. It’s just something you have to learn to deal with. Unfortunately, rude people are just something you have to put up with.

It’s okay if you bump into someone, everyone does. There’s just never a hallway wide enough to avoid it! :) The hallways are going to be crowded when you’re going to a different class and you’re probably going to bump into someone. But look around, everyone else is too!

Where I go to school, people don’t actually use their planners. They’re never asked to present them or anything. Once you get to high school, teachers give you a lot more responsibility and trust you to use or not use your planner when you see fit. If you’re really worried, you can buy cool looking planners from many stores (try Wal-Mart).

It’s possible more clubs will start up once school starts. If not, you can see about starting your own club! Also, try a club in your community. There’s tons out there, not just at school.

Most people don’t carry tote bags or anything around. Usually just purses where you can put your pencil case or whatever. If you can’t put a textbook in it, then feel free to carry it around. A lot of people carry big bags around, it’s okay. If there’s something wrong with carrying it, a teacher will tell you.

Good luck! Personally, I love high school! ;)

I’m a senior now and this is what I can tell you:

Step one: Take a deep breath…
Starting the first day of high school is scary to most everyone. You’ll find that after the first or second day, everything will start falling into place. Don’t stress about the little things like what type of bag you should carry or who you bump into. Chances are, nobody will notice anyway. Seriously, everybody is too busy thinking about themselves that they won’t notice a thing. As for clubs/sports teams you could always try out for one, and if you decide that you really don’t like it then start your own! If something really interests you then let it be known. :)

The biggest tip I could give you is to be your self. If you aren’t quite sure of who you are yet, then it’s perfectly alright to try new things and figure it out, but please don’t be a sheep (follower). Try to have an optimistic view and relax. You’ll find that everything seems a lot easier when you have a clear head and sense of direction. Good Luck in High School!

Thanks for finding my question interesting, and with that said I will help you out, okay i graudated a few years ago as I am 21 now
but my sister is going into high school and is going to be a freshman also
i suggest asking your counselour for a new planner or buying a inexpensive one from target, also ask if your tote is okay to use, if not just get a smaller bag, and put yourself out there maybe try practing cheerleading or soccer I’m sure you are good at one of them and maybe just do not have enough confidence in youself, be yourself and don’t be too shy high school is a great time in life, i wish you lots of luck on your first day
