This is not healthy!!! You will starve yourself and possibly die! mandylea2003
take in how many calories you need to maintain your weight and add a hundred or so…then cardio for at least half an hour a day that will get you there safely Steve
absoulutly not a healthy thing to do. krystie59
That’s really not healthy try eating 4-6 smaller meals over the course of a day instead of the usual three. Exercise regularly. NoName
OF COURSE NOT, DUMBASS
kids ask the darndest questions! Amber
Theres a reason why a healthy diet consists of 2,000 calories….600 is dumb..don’t be stupid bob123
The problem with that, is that you WILL lose weight, but you WILL gain it back plus some as soon as you start eating regularly again, even if it is just healthy foods. lonely and sad
nothing will probably happen, except decreased muscle tone.
if you don’t get at 1200 calories a day your metabolism slows down because it does not have as many calories to burn and your body goes into “starvation mode”
starvation mode is when your body stores all fat and taps into muscle for energy because it wants to hold on to everything you eat because it thinks your starving.
please don’t do this. it will not help very much, and sooner or later you will have to eat regularly and it will all come back (the little you might lose) and you will be worse off and it will be even harder to lose again.
i would suggest more something along the lines of 5 small meals a deal, (your breakfast should at least be 300 caloriess to get your metabolism going and keep you from feeling as hungy)
lower your calorie intake
and really, its a lot of cardio, it sucks, but its how our body is designed and its really the only way. toning is good as well because muscles burns more calories doing nothing than fat does, and you will look better once you lose weight. KaraBeara7
A healthy diet consists of 2,000 calories a day! You will starve! 600 calories is practically anorexic! That’s like the amount of calories from dinner. Just stick to 2000 and you should be fine. If you snack a lot and stuff, you will probably be having more calories than 2,000 daily. Eat 3 meals a day, don’t go back for seconds and over stuff yourself, and pass on the dessert. Ride your bike and get some activitiy, but please, do not eat minimal food. It isn’t healthy. msett
No, not at all. You’re still growing and your body needs all those calories to help it grow. It can be dangerous.
Everyday life burns about 1300 calories depending on the person. Eating any less can cause the body to go into “survival mode” and it stores extra fat so you can stay alive and keep nutrients from that. So basically, you’ll be starving yourself but keeping fat on.
Plus, you’re 13, and like I said, you’re still growing. Your body has a tendency to even out as you get older. And plus, all the starvation leads to binge eating and you’ll gain back all the “weight” you lost.
It’s a really bad idea. But, you can sign up online for the Nivea 4 week challenge, Goodbye Cellulite, Hello Bikini body. It has detailed instructions on diet, fitness and skin tips. It’s healthy because it allows you to eat good and fill you up while loosing weight.
Try that. Do not starve yourself. Emma QJ
Absolutely not. If you take in less 1100 calories, your body enters into “starvation mode.” This means the body will conserve calories to prevent death by starvation, so you actually end up gaining weight rather than losing it. This can also happen when you make a drastic calorie change (for example, going from eating 2500 calories a day to 1800 a day).
To lose weight effectively, you need to GRADUALLY decrease your calorie intake while GRADUALLY increasing exercise throughout the day. Otherwise you will enter starvation mode and your efforts will end up backfiring. In addition, this can also lead to overeating because you will feel hungry all the time instead of eating sensibly. Talk to your pediatrician, they can help you form a healthy plan to lose weight. littlemoonie13
im sorry but even eating what you plan on eating will be more than 600 calories. Cereal is normal around 200 hundred calories, then milk. Whole wheat bread is around 75 calories a slice then the ham, and possible cheese or mustard or mayo? and a slad, what about carrots, or onions, or the big one dressing.
You also have to consider what if you go out for the day and dont have a ham sandwhich for lunch, then what? if you were honestly going to have 600 calories for the rest of summer that means you could NEVER have ice cream or pizza or popcorn or pizza with your friends, all. summer. long.
and dont you think you owuld get tired of the same thing everyday. also you couldnt work out if you ate so few calories, you could put your health at rish and pass out.
instead eat around 1,500 to 2,000 calories a day, depending on your height and current weight. and just work out, go on a jog or find excersise videos. i’m fourteen and just lost fifteen pounds and doing this worked for me. you can eat what you want as long as it is in small portions and isnt packed with calories. so instead of cutting out all the foods try to stay away from soda or hunny buns. for me, i wouldnt eat sweets for one week every month. and its very hard at first but then you get used to not eating sweets and when i would go back to sweets i wouldnt like there taste as much. but being thirteen you need to eat and instead of major calorie cuts do some major work outs. brokenhailo
You will lose weight, energy, muscle, and bone mass. But not fat.
That will put your body into starvation mode. Basically your body will do whatever it can to survive, such as limiting your energy (you will be continually lethargic). You can’t get the proteins, vitamins, and minerals you need at that intake level, so your body will end up eating your muscle and bones(which is where your weight loss will come from), not your fat (no nutritional value). It is also hard on your heart, which is likely why a girl I know died of a heat attack at age 18! 13 is a big age for women to build bone mass, so you risk becoming old rather young.
For an adult woman they say the minimum is 1200 calories a day. I do not know about age 13, as you are probably still developing in some ways. If you can get to a doctor, ask him/her about a minimum caloric intake and your ideal weight.
Here is a website that says things you probably already know, but gives some good ideas for losing fat. Veronica S
Good on you for asking. Most of the advice given already is great. Everyone needs a well balanced daily intake and 600 calories is definitely not enough for anyone let alone a girl growing towards womanhood. You are quite young to be worrying about your weight but if you are really concerned about what you look like, ask someone you trust what they think about your size. Try not to compare yourself to pictures of models and pop stars etc.,as you don’t know what they look like when they get out of bed each morning. Many have their own insecurities – some suffer from eating disorders and other issues relating to their appearance and health.
You don’t say what your weight is but unless you can feel big rolls of fat around your waist you may not be overweight. Remember most teenagers go through a stage where they either put on weight or get very skinny. It is troublesome to both groups. With sensible eating it does pass. Eat a small plate of food. Wait ten minutes, then if still hungy, eat some more. This allows your body to tell you when it has had enough.
1. Always eat breakfast. This will help your body keep in balance and feed your brain as well. Students who eat breakfast do better at school than kids who don’t.
2. Sandwich is OK for lunch but try and add at least one or two pieces of fresh fruit.
3. Dinner – salad is OK, but add some fresh vegetables and some protein in the form of chicken or meat. You will gradually come to your correct weight for your age and height. If you don’t eat enough you will end up overweight!
As long as you are sensible about what you eat and drink, and get some regular exercise you will be healthy and well. Sitting around watching tv or too much time on the computer too often is disastrous for the bottom. Put some good music on and boogie away instead! TODAY… cut down on sugary and fizzy drinks (coke, cola, lemonade etc. especially diet drinks) and cut them down more each day with the goal of getting rid of fast foods and sugary food and drinks once and for all. That includes cookies and cake, too many potato chips etc., but do allow yourself a small treat from time to time. There is usually a healthy alternative available when you go to McD’s or other fast food outlet with friends or family and who knows, you might even help them change bad habits!
You will already know what is “good advice” from the postings, so don’t take any notice of the messages from nasty people! Always remember, beauty comes from within and a kind heart and good attitude will bring you fine friendships. Best wishes for a long and healthy life…… SusiMinnz
I think that 600 calories a day is dangerous. Stick to at least 2000 healthy calories and stay active. If you focus on not eating, you’ll just eventually give up, shut down your metabolism and not be healthy.
We have a great lunch website where each item has nutrition and calorie info though – it could help you stay focused on calorie/nutrition info AND you can add your own foods. You can rate things too and if you’re undecided, have the site choose your lunch with the lunchfood lottery. Good luck!
