Listen, take notes and ask lots and lots of questions. You are responsible for the duties assigned to you. If you don’t think you can do the job, pass it along to someone else. There are 100’s of unemployed people who would jump at the opportunity you have been given. Suck it up and pay attention!
Sorry, my mind wandered when you mentioned the popsicle.
But good luck anyway.
Your job is going to suck at first because you will forget things and lose things but stick it out. Just act like you know what you’re doing and eventually you’ll get the hang of it. This job will be excellent preparation for the real world, so take advantage of it and good luck
Just calm down, for starters. You’ll figure it all out if you give yourself time. But if you freak out about not getting something after a few days, you’ll end up never understanding. Just relax and accept the fact that you’re going to make mistakes, just be sure to learn from them.
I like Mawia’s advice. Make a schedule and stick to it or you wont last.
Okay first of all calm down, its okay its just that youre new a this but youll get the hang of it any ways if all those people are just being ***** well it there problem they are probably just scared cuz you might end up in a better spot then them, like in the movie The Devil wears prada, i dont know if you have watched, but anyways it could also be that they just want to be better or something but forget about them not in a mean ways any ways you gotta get out there with your head held high (do not think about that you can not do it, cuz you can if believe you can) prove that you are really good. just go to work and do everything that is asked and if somebody says a *****y remark just smile walk away or just walk away. but believe me you could do it and you barely got the job so yeah and i wish you lots of luck.
Welcome to the real world this is what happens at work OK start taking notes & when you’re shown something ask questions until you fully understand even have a pad with you to jot things down Your boss will see you’re serious about learning your job.Get over shyness b/c it’ll get you no where & if you have to write down voice messages then write person’s name & write the message.Your opinion of your co-workers calling them b*tches on your first day sounds a little inmature to me.Be responsible & remember this isn’t school anymore OK Good luck & don’t make mountains out of mole hills
Relax. Deep breathing. Starting any new job is hard enough, but starting your first ever job in an office at your age is incredibly stressful. My advice is, write things down. Ensure that you have proper notebooks/pads and pens to record notes. Make a list of all the important duties you have to do each day and then do them. It may help to take some kind of office or administrative course if you are able to do so.
Don’t be afraid of what people think of you or whether they’re laughing at you, talking about you, anything like that. Because whatever you do, however you act, people will have something to say. Don’t worry about the other women being bi*ches, that happens in every office and it’ll be about stupid stuff anyway. Women can be amazingly petty and catty.
Try to learn a bit (perhaps from your parents) about what is acceptable in an office, as in how people treat you. I’m not trying to be negative and scare you but because you are very young, people may try to take advantage of you and talk to you or treat you rudely or make you do things that aren’t in your job description that you don’t necessarily have to do. I know because I’ve been there. Don’t get too personal with people. Believe me, I’ve been there and it doesn’t turn out great. If anyone starts asking or trying to talk to you about things you aren’t comfortable with, like asking you about different aspects of your personality, or asking really nosy questions about your personal life, just tell them that you’d rather not talk about it, you’d like to keep that stuff separate from work.
Try to act a bit more mature and responsible. Eating popsicles probably isn’t giving off such a great impression of being mature. Dress appropriately, do the work to the best of your ability and remember that EVERYONE (even managers) screw up and it is not the end of the world if you do screw up. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
One last tip: don’t be b*tchy. If you happen to come across someone the same age as you and befriend them a little, don’t start drama around the office, even about someone that’s annoying you. It never turns out good. In fact it can end up causing a lot of stress that you don’t need and you could end up in trouble.
Relax, act confident and you will get there in the end.
