Software Organizer/Planner/Calendar for my my computer?

I’m looking for a software program to organize my hectic life. I would like to add birthdays, appointments, and other reminders to a daily calendar that either opens automatically on boot up, or is an online version that would act as my homepage each day when I go online. I need to schedule imortant dates up to 6 months out and don’t want to have to open a program every day to check my schedule.

Yahoo has a calendar and can be accessed from any computer with your Yahoo! account (which you already have).
